Rats will try their hardest to try and let us know what they want. It isn't allways easy to figure out what it is they are trying to tell us, but we deffinitly know that it must be important. Perhaps this page will help you to understand what all those whispers, chitters and chatters are all about.
Teeth Grinding Teeth griding is mae when your rat is relaxing. It will lower it's eylids slightly and begin to vibrate it's head slightly. When the grinding is at it's loudest the rats eyes will slightly bulge. this is a sign of great contentment. It also helps to wear down thier teeth.

Teeth Chattering This is a loud clicking sound. Ratty usualy will do this when it has a great big story to tell or a protest! some belive this is a sound of anoyance or anger. In my experiences with it, it just means to me that they are protesting against bath time.

Snorting This is a slightly muffled sound that comes from the soft top of the rats mouth. This usualy happend when your ratty is exploring and is busy getting into things. It is the samething we do when we stick our tounge out when concentrating.
